6 Options to Reset Windows 8 Password with / without Reset Disk

There are times when we all have forgotten our Windows 8 password and been locked out of our computer. While this can be frustrating, there are a few different ways that you can reset your Windows 8 password so that you can regain access to your computer. In this article, we will go over 6 different options to reset your Windows 8 password with or without a reset disk.

Option 1: Use a Password Reset Disk

If you have created a password reset disk before you forgot your password, then you can use that disk to reset your password. To do this, you will need to boot up your computer and insert the password reset disk into the computer. Once you have done that, you will see a screen that says "Reset Password". Follow the prompts on the screen to reset your password.

Option 2: Use the Command Prompt

If you have not created a password reset disk, you can still reset your password by using the command prompt. To do this, you will need to boot up your computer and press the "Shift + F10" keys to open the command prompt. Once the command prompt is open, you will need to type in the following command:

net user

Replace with your username and with the new password that you want to use. Once you have done that, hit enter and your password will be reset.

Option 3: Use a Third-Party Password Reset Tool

If you do not have a password reset disk and you do not want to use the command prompt, you can always use a third-party password reset tool. There are many different password reset tools available online. Some of these tools are free while others you will have to pay for. We recommend using a tool called Kon-Boot. Kon-Boot is a tool that allows you to bypass the Windows 8 password entirely so that you can login to your computer without a password.

Option 4: Use the Safe Mode

If you are unable to login to your computer because you forgot your password, you can try to login in safe mode. To do this, you will need to boot up your computer and press the "F8" key before Windows 8 starts to load. This will bring up the advanced boot options menu. From here, you will need to select "Safe Mode". Once you are in safe mode, you will be able to login to your computer without a password.

Option 5: Use a System Restore Point

If you have created a system restore point before you forgot your password, you can use that restore point to reset your password. To do this, you will need to boot up your computer and select the "Repair your computer" option from the Advanced Boot Options menu. This option is only available if you have a Windows 8 installation disc. Once you are in the repair environment, you will need to select the "System Restore" option. Follow the prompts on the screen to restore your computer to a previous restore point.

Option 6: Reinstall Windows 8

If you are still unable to login to your computer after trying all of the other options, you can always reinstall Windows 8. This will delete all of the files on your computer, so make sure that you have backed up all of your important files before proceeding.
