If you're looking for a more permanent solution to password problems on your Surface Book 2, we recommend using Kon-Boot. Kon-Boot is a program that allows you to bypass the password login screen on your Surface Book 2 (and other Windows computers).

Once you've installed Kon-Boot on a USB drive, you can boot from the USB drive and log into your Surface Book 2 without needing a password. Kon-Boot is a paid program, but it's well worth the price if you're tired of forgotten passwords.
